L.a. Studio was founded in order to give local and visiting artists a place to concentrate on projects in a comfortable, collaborative, and creative space.
We are located in the renovated historic St. Mary's catholic school building in Patton, PA, an old clay works and timbering town located in the Appalachian Mountains, surrounded by hiking and biking trails, and a 15-minute drive from Prince Gallitzin State Park.
Our space offers 12-foot high ceilings, large 7-foot windows, kilns and throwing wheels, stained glass equipment, a wood shop, and plenty of open studio space with natural daylight to fuel artists of any discipline. Newly renovated, spacious, and eclectic apartments for artists in residence are conveniently located above the studios, on the second floor.
Our programming ranges from individual or group classes to long-term artist residencies in almost any media.
A play on our local area code (814), L.a. Studio’s ART14 creative residency is a haven for artists looking for a peaceful and spacious place to explore their art.
