Want to experiment for the first time or refresh your skills in the versatile painting medium of watercolor? Visiting resident artist, Donna Charging, will lead the class step-by-step through simple exercises as a primer to creating original watercolors from life or from your imagination.
Over 50 artists from all over the world have resided at the studio, and created a variety of types of artwork since August of 2023. Build a colorful brilliant glass on glass butterfly in an 8x8” pine frame with Marian Ross, Panes of Promise Glass Art. Choose your colors and follow as Marian guides you step by step to completion.
Finished pieces will be kept to seal and delivered back for pickup in about a week.

Part I: Learn the basics of hand-building and wheel-throwing with clay, while making your own pieces, Perfect for beginners and experienced potters.
Your pieces will be kept to dry and kiln-fired.
Ages 16-99. 4 minimum; 6 maximum
If you can't make it to Part II: Glazing; August 2nd, 1-3 PM, David will glaze your pottery, or you can schedule another time.

The ART14 Residency program hosts visiting artists practicing a variety of disciplines from all over the world for 2-3 weeks at a time. We always learn a great deal from them and love for our artists in residence to be able to connect with our local community in Patton while they are here. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists. This class covers layering, blending, and capturing light and shadow with a beautiful birdhouse using acrylics on a 12x12" canvas.

Part II: Tuesday, Aug 19, 2025

Flamingo Dot Art
Celebrate Flamingos by dotting one to three flamingos on a painted 8x10" canvas. Guided instruction and tools provided by Jill Moriconi. Part I, August 12, 6-7 PM, participants will paint the background. Then a week later, Part II, August 19, 6-9 PM, participants will create the flamingo(s) with dot art. This class is great for beginners and experienced dot artists!
Optional: finished paintings can be sealed and returned in about a week.
Participants will work with square knots and beads to create a hanging shelf perfect for displaying a potted plant.
